Areas of practice
Dr Edmund Ngan provides comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages. His approach focuses on preventive care, routine examinations, and maintaining oral health through regular check-ups. He works with families to address their dental needs in a supportive environment.
Services include routine examinations, scale and clean procedures, dental fillings, and oral health education. He discusses treatment options with patients so they can make informed choices about their care. He tailors his approach to suit individual circumstances and health goals.
Dr Ngan performs tooth extractions when a tooth cannot be preserved through other treatment options. Extractions may be recommended for teeth affected by severe decay, infection, crowding, or damage. Each situation is assessed individually to determine the appropriate course of action.
The procedure involves extracting the tooth from its socket in the jawbone. Dr Ngan explains the process, discusses what to expect during recovery, and provides guidance on post-procedure care. He addresses patient questions and concerns throughout the treatment process.
Root canal treatment addresses infection or damage within a tooth’s pulp. The pulp contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. When this tissue becomes infected or inflamed, treatment may help preserve the tooth structure.
Dr Ngan clears the affected pulp, cleans the root canal system, and seals the space to help prevent further infection. The procedure aims to address discomfort and maintain the natural tooth when possible. Recovery and outcomes can vary depending on individual circumstances and the extent of infection.
Dental crowns are restorations that cover and protect damaged or weakened teeth. They can restore tooth shape, strength, and appearance after decay, fracture, or root canal treatment. Crowns are custom-made to match surrounding teeth.
Bridges replace one or more missing teeth using crowns on adjacent teeth for support. Dr Ngan assesses your dental structure and discusses whether crowns or bridges may be suitable for your situation. Treatment planning considers your oral health status, functional needs, and individual preferences.
